Louisiana Insurance Commissioner
Jim Donelon is the Commissioner of Insurance for the state of Louisiana. Among the many leadership positions he has held in his distinguished career, Mr. Donelon is a retired State Judge Advocate for the Louisiana Army National Guard, in which he attained the rank of Colonel and was awarded the Legion of Merit Medal. Mr. Donelon currently serves as the chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and sits on the Board of Directors of both the New Orleans Alliance for the Mentally Ill and the Blood Center for Southeast Louisiana. A graduate of Jesuit High School, the University of New Orleans and Loyola School of Law, Mr. Donelon is married and resides in Jefferson Parish. He and his wife have four daughters and six grandchildren.

It also prepares and distributes information to educate and help consumers and provides assistance for those who request advocacy services.
